When you test you SharePoint perfomance make sure that you are using the right testing data.
Avoid uploading the same document multiple times (sometimes hundreds or thousands of times) using different names to generate the site content, because it affects the "dublicates process" and hinders the crawling performance.
SharePoint’s search calculates a hash based on the contents of a document – ignoring fine name! So the 30,000 copies of the same document different filename will degrade the search retrieval because SharePoint tries to resolve duplicate documents of the same document over and over again.
